Linda and family,
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. It was so good to see Chuck at the Sara Lee reunion in 2010 and remembering all the good times we had and how all of our lives continued in different directions but still had the old connection. Be strong and keep the memories alive within you as your family speaks often of him. He will be in your hearts forever.

Such sad news to hear, I am so sorry for your loss. If ever there was a "Mr. Tripoli" Charlie was the man, I can't imagine the void he leaves in the community. I'm thankful for the opportunity to get reacquainted with an old classmate during the time my folks lived across the street from you, just wish I could participate in that great small town tradition of bringing a hot dish over to a neighbor in need, but in lieu of that, I have you in my thoughts and prayers. May the Good Lord comfort you.

Linda and family,
Linda, while you probably don't remember me and my wife Eadie since you were a little girl when we last saw you and, of course, unfortuately never met your husband or daughters, we were so sorry to hear about the death of your husband and father.

His obituary is an awesome tribute to a man that was dedicated to his family and community. In the time to come, I know that you all will take great comfort and solace in your many memories of an extraordary husband and father.

Diane Oltrogge sent me an e-mail this morning about your loss. She and my younger sister Carolyn as well as Kathy Triune(sp)were friends back then. Diane and Carolyn were fairly close over the years in sharing family information and when she came to Carolyn's funeral in early November 2012, I asked Diane to keep me posted about the Iowa part of the family.

I am sorry that Eadie and I will not be able to attend the funeral service for your husband. But please know that we too are here for you, even though somewhat far away.

May God give you all the comfort of knowing that Charles is now with the Savior. Love Dave and Eadie Hills

I'm so sorry to here about Chuck I was blessed to have worked with him at Sara Lee back in the 70's. He also drove the bus for my post daughters wedding making sure everyone got back safe to the motel. I tired to stay current with Chuck's activites and what he was up to through my friend Ryan Freiburg who lives in Tripoli.

May the comfort and strength of the Lord find each of you during this difficult time.

Chuck was a great influence to many basketball players at THS. I am truly fortunate to have been one of those players.

I am also thankful that Chuck drove the CR Kennedy Girls BB team over to Waukee back in January of 2012. It was a great surprise to see him and an even better opportunity for conversation about our families and the "good old days". I had our son with me at the game and am thankful he had the chance to meet Chuck.

Chuck is gone too soon, but certainly not forgotten.

My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? Linda, Jodi, Jill, & family, I think you know how much we loved Charlie - he was a wonderful man to his family, friends, and community. When speaking to our basketball team Wednesday evening, I talked about Charlie and what a role model he was as a husband, father, and coummunity member. I told our players about his work ethic, his work on the football chain gang, our TPC chart in basketball, and all years as the best line judge in volleyball in the state of Iowa. Personally, I will just miss his friendship and our visits - I never coached a basketball game in Tripoli without a few "post-game" beers with Chuck! Our hearts are breaking with yours, Roger & Beth
